Almost Full Moon

8.8 seconds, f/16.0, ISO 160, 71 mm, AWB, spot focus, tripod.  This is practice for shooting the moon.  The blue and green half-orbs are refracted moonlight inside the lens.

My Afternoon

Beach Walk on a gray day; reflection.  1/125s, ISO 160, f/4.8, tripod, 72 mm.

Oily reflection.  Cloudy with filtered daylight and the water surface is that thick kind of water experienced during the winter.  The rigging and boat hull lines are pleasantly distorted in the soft water movement.  1/160s, f/5.0, ISO 160, tripod, AWB.

I picked this arrangment of brightly colored objects for a sense of unity in round shapes, confusion with many other repeated shapes, contrast of linearity and grayness of the dock planks.  This was the only color on an otherwise grey day.  1/200s, f/5.6, ISO 160, and color-amp with PS.

My Morning

Puppy Love.  1/2000s, f/4.0, ISO 160, focal length 45mm, AWB.  On our morning walk at the dog park, a new collie puppy, Omar, with the same coloring as Toby joined us for licks and kisses.  Love at first sight.

Fire

I've wanted to learn to photograph a candle --- so off to the Internet.  The dining table set-ups - five of them - 200 clicks, and this is the one I like best.  Simple and sharp.  1/20s, f/4.8, 60 mm, ISO 160, tripod, auto balance, no flash.   The key to the many candle soft glow effect is to many use tea lites bunched together,  photographed close-up with spot focus.  Messy because they burn too fast and the house could go up in smoke.  I DID burn my sweater.
